After the success of Kung Fu Panda, there was no way I was going to miss it. And that decision is purely based on the Po character – Panda basically since he is just so damn cute.

Directed By: Kenneth Branagh

Story By: J. Michael Straczynski and Mark Protosevich

Cast: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan SkarsgÄrd

I always have this confusion whether to consider Thor a superhero or a God – more because I never believed in God. But does it matter? I guess not.

Thor is the son of Odin who is the king of Asgard. Odin defeated the Frost Giants of Jotunheim to prevent them from conquering Earth (which supposedly is one of the realms). Odin takes away their power source and keeps it inside Asgard guarded. As Odin is growing old, he expects one of his sons -Thor or Loki – to take over from him as the king of Asgard. When Frost Giants try to steal their power source back, Thor travels to Jotunheim to confront them against his father;s wishes. As a result, Odin strips him of his powers and exiles him back to Earth along with his hammer which is now protected with a spell as to only the worthy would be able to hold it. Read Further

Tanu Weds Manu

Cast: R. Madhavan, Kangana Ranaut, Jimmy Shergill

I like Kangana Ranuat. I liked her in many movies but even then there was nothign about this movie that made me want to watch it. The only reason I watched this movie was because it was avaialble for free on Dish TV and I did not have much to do on one of those days.

The movie is about a doctor, Manu who has returned from somewhere outside India (I think London) and coz of his parents is going around seeing girls for marriage. He lands up at Tanu’s house and falls in love with her on first sight. Tanu incidentaly doesn’t even see Manu since she is totally knocked out due to her Vodka shots. The marriage is finalized and both parties decide to go to Vaishno Devi before the two get engaged. Dhobi Ghat – review

When I saw the trailers I did not want to see this movie. I mean apart from the beautiful photographs that were shown in the trailers, there seemed to be nothing extraordinary about the movie. Even the presence of Aamir Khan and the fact that this was his home production could not invoke the desire in me to watch it.

But what did force me to think about watching this movie was its review in Hindustan Times. And when I did pick it up, was I impressed? An initial no which slowly turned in an emphatic yes.

When the movie started, I couldn’t understand what was happening around but when I started to get a hang of things, it turned out to be just awesome. Read Further

No One Killed Jessica….

I am a big fan of movies based on true events and when this movie came out, it was a definite that I would be watching this one.
